
The Faculty of Philology of ENU after L.N. Gumilyov is a structural subdivision of the University, which was created on the basis of the reorganization of the Faculty of History and Philology according to the Rector's N. 33–n dated February 10, 2009. Being the leading research center of the Eurasian region in the training of specialists in Kazakh, Russian, English, German, Chinese languages and literature, translations, professionally competitive at the world level, meeting modern requirements of humanitarian education, the Faculty of Philology on the path of strategic development is recognized as an innovative center in the field of philological education and the structure of research-type education.
The teaching staff of the Faculty of Philology, research, literary creative potential of which is widely known to Kazakhstan, is an outstanding creative elite of the country. Among them are academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctors of Philology, professors, public figures, writers, aityskers, poets.
Faculty teachers give lectures and conduct practical classes abroad. The number of faculty professors invited to give lectures from abroad for a long and short term increases annually.
The mission of the faculty.
To be the leading research center of the Eurasian region in the professional training of globally competitive, meeting the modern requirements of humanitarian education, the Philological faculty is faced with the urgent task of reaching a fundamentally new professional level, involving the development and supply of competitive educational products to the market, as well as the training of first-class specialists in the field of humanities. Accordingly, the main mission is based on the principles that will create the maximum conditions for the effective realization of the intellectual potential of teachers and students in scientific and educational activities in order to train philological personnel with a world level of competitiveness.
