One of the main direction of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice is development and reinforcement of cooperation withworldwide progressive research centers and universities. Nowadays, department works in partnership with countries of Europe and the CIS, therefore, every year department students and masters use opportunities to study at the foreign universities by achieving high results in a competition of academic mobility.The Department of Translation Theory and Practice works closely with the following universities: Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, Lithuania (Akzhigitova P., Karibaeva A.); University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic (EgispekovaZh.); Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan, Russian Federation (Nurzhangali N., Bikenova A.); The University of Warsaw, Poland (Abdramanov O.,); University of Opole, Poland (Esirkenova A.,); Seoul National University, South Korea.

Main Direction of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice – strengthening and further developing international cooperation with leading research centers and universities worldwide. Currently, the department actively collaborates with universities in Europe, Asia, and the CIS countries, providing students and master’s students the opportunity to participate in academic mobility programs, research internships, and joint educational projects.
Within the framework of academic mobility, department students annually study at partner universities abroad, expanding their professional and cultural horizons.

Academic mobility
Information on incoming academic mobility in the Department of Translation Theory and Practice. As part of the academic mobility program in the 2023-2024 academic year, 16 foreign students from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Korea and France study at the department.
Onal Saya, a 3rd year student with a degree in Translation studies, studied at the University of Wroclaw in the fall semester by the academic mobility program.

Graduate student of the 2nd year of the specialty "Translation Studies" Temirzhan Amir underwent training as part of academic mobility in the fall semester at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic.

Academic Mobility for the 2024–2025 Academic Year
Transfers and Internal Mobility
At the beginning of the 2024–2025 academic year, students were transferred within Kazakhstan to the educational program 6B02307 – Translation Studies:
Aym Talgatbekova (Shakarim University, Semey)
Aikumis Amangeldieva (Astana International University)
Additionally, in the autumn semester 2024, students from K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University—Ahmadiy Aruna, Izbasarova Araylym, and Ganiyeva Aruzhan—were enrolled under internal academic mobility.
Outgoing Academic Mobility (Autumn Semester)
From September 1, 2024, to January 10, 2025, 7 students from foreign universities studied at the department: Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan) and Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn.
Outgoing Academic Mobility (Spring Semester)
Under the ENU Ambassador Program, department students studied at leading foreign universities:

Incoming Academic Mobility (Spring Semester)
In the spring semester of 2025, 21 students, including 1 master’s student, studied at the department under external academic mobility programs.

Plan for the 2025–2026 Academic Year
For the 2025–2026 academic year, three female students have been nominated for international academic mobility under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

Askarqyzy Gaziza – Vilnius University, Lithuania
All students completed consultations on course selection, prepared Learning Agreements and Application Forms, and are awaiting confirmation from host institutions.
Additional Programs
Under the SOP program, 9 female students from Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan) were transferred to the 4th year. Individual study plans for 2025–2026 have been prepared. Currently, students are undergoing practical training:
