
Achievements
Teachers of the department of Translation Theorry and Practice advance their skills with the International program ‘Bolashak’. The Professor of department S.K.Satenova has done a scientific internship at Glasgow University in Scotland. Assem Manarbekovna Kyzyrova - candidate of Philological Sciences, senior lecturer of the department has completed the scientific internship on ‘Theory and methods of education and training’ at Brunel University in London. During the internship Assem Manarbekovna was involved in innovative laboratory works, seminars and lectures at Brunel Business School. Lectures were dedicated to the modern informational communicative technologies and study planning of social media appliances. Gulnar Ilyassovna Kuldeeva – doctor of Philological Studies, professor has completed language courses at Warwick University in the UK by ‘Bolashak’ international program. After successful completion of language courses Gulnar Ilyassovna has done a scientific internship on ‘Pedagogical diagnostics. Learning quality assessment and control’ at Swiss Montreux Business School in Switzerland.

Nurmira Zhumay - PhD, graduated Leiden University, Leiden, Netherlands on ‘Pedagogics and psychology’with the international program ‘Bolashak’.

PhD Manshuk Zhumabayevna Yesskindirova and Zhuldyz Kuanyshkyzy Alshinbayeva had completed a scientific internship on ‘Pedagogical diagnostics. Learning quality assessment and control’ at Swiss Montreux Business School in Switzerland.

Botagoz Maratkyzy Jabasheva – head teacher and master, has got her Master’s Degree on ‘Education management’ at Warwick University, the UK.

The teaching staff of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice actively enhances their professional level every year.
Continuous professional development is an integral part of the pedagogical and scientific activities of the department’s team. The instructors regularly study new academic and methodological publications, attend colleagues’ classes, exchange experience, and implement modern pedagogical technologies into the educational process.
The department has established a sustainable system of scientific internships at leading foreign universities, which contributes to the development of professional competence and the strengthening of international academic cooperation.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, the department’s instructors took an active part in professional and pedagogical development courses and seminars. Under the leadership of the department head, Diana Muratovna Akizhanova, the Department of Translation Theory and Practice successfully organized the “School of Translation” seminars featuring international speakers, including professor Damjan Popic, interpreter Kulshe Mursalim, and Turkologist Meryem Saylak.
A total of 27 participants completed the program, which was confirmed by certificates amounting to 72 academic hours.
In addition, Gulnar Anuarbekkyzy Muratovna was awarded the badge of the Ministry of Education dedicated to Akhmet Baitursynuly. Distinguished scholars of the Faculty of Philology — Doctor of Philology, Professor Serikkul Kopeshbayevna Satenova, and Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Maral Bimendiyevna Amalbekova — received Certificates of Honor from the Chairman of the Board – Rector Yerlan Sydykov in recognition of their invaluable contribution to university science on the occasion of the Day of Science Workers. Furthermore, Syriyachenko Viktoria Vladimirovna successfully defended her dissertation and obtained the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree under the educational program 8D02314 – “Literary Studies.”
During the reporting period, the teaching staff of the department also independently participated in various congresses, seminars, round tables, conferences, and webinars held throughout the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered presentations, and received corresponding certificates.
Honors and Recognition
In the reporting year, the department’s instructors proudly represented the university and received a number of departmental awards and distinctions:
- Professor of the department, Doctor of Philology M. B. Amalbekova was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, E. B. Sydykov (April 12, 2025);
- Professor of the department, Doctor of Philology S. K. Satenova was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the ENU Rector E. B. Sydykov (April 12, 2025);
- Senior Lecturer of the department, PhD N. Zhumai was awarded the commemorative badge “125 years of K. Satpayev” (November 1, 2024).
Multilingual Education
Since the 2022–2023 academic year, the department has been implementing a multilingual education program aimed at training students in English-language academic programs.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, the department enrolled its third cohort of students into English-medium groups.
The total number of students was 5, including 3 scholarship recipients and 2 fee-paying students.
