
International cooperation


Since 2009, the Department has been implementing a two-degree master's degree program in cooperation with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) (Moscow) within the framework of the Network Open University (SOU) of the CIS countries. The coordinator of the program responsible for the development, coordination, functioning and organization of work in the part of the joint educational program within the framework of the CIS Educational Institutions in the field of Philology (specialization "Russian language") is Prof. E.A. Zhuravleva.

Together with Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics holds conferences, round tables and seminars, as well as events on the development and study of the Russian language. The Department cooperates with the Kazakhstan branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University, teachers of the department participate in all events held by the Branch on the basis of ENU, and students of the Branch practice at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics.

The Institute of Linguistics of the Russian State University for the Humanities (Moscow, Russia), together with the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the L.N. Gumilev ENU, organizes field seminars and master classes of Russian scientists in Kazakhstan. As part of the cooperation, the scientist G.E. Kreidlin arrived to give lectures to teachers, undergraduates and students in December 2012. All participants were awarded certificates.

An agreement on scientific cooperation has been concluded between the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, represented by the head of the Department, Professor E.A. Zhuravleva, on the one hand, and the Institute of Slavic and Baltic Philology of the University. Loranda Etves of Budapest (Hungary) in the person of Professor Istvan Lukacs, on the other hand. The agreement was signed in 2018 and initiated by Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Zhunusova Zh.N.

Professor of the Department Zharkynbekova Sh.K. is a participant in the project "Hot and cold ethnicities in post-Soviet space" together with professors of the University of Tartu M. Ehala and A. Zabrodskaya (Estonia, Tartu). Teachers and doctoral students of the department have close scientific contacts with scientists of the University of Tartu, take part in scientific events held in Estonia, and write joint scientific papers.

Within the framework of cooperation with the Polish Embassy, the department has a Center for Polish Language and Culture, on the basis of which teachers from Poland work. The Center began its work in May 2011. Russian Russian Language and Literature" and "5B020524 - Philology: Russian language" are included in the programs of the specialties "5B011800 – Russian language and literature", an elective course "Polish language" as one of the modern Slavic languages has been introduced. The Polish language is being taught to all comers, the priority of the work is the development of Polish-Kazakh cultural relations.

The Belarusian State University (Minsk), within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation between universities, annually holds seminars and conferences to which teachers, undergraduates and students of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the L.N. Gumilev ENU are invited. Russian Russian Language and Literature majors 6M011800 - Russian Language and Literature and 6M020500 – Philology: Russian Philology undergraduates at the Faculty of Philology of the Belarusian State University undergo scientific internships, publish the results of their research in collections of scientific papers.

Between the Faculty of Philology of the ENU and the Institute of Slavic Studies of the University of Peche (Peche, Hungary) An agreement on cooperation in the field of science, education and culture was signed. The initiator of the agreement was Prof. E.A. Zhuravleva. Under this agreement, undergraduates of 1-2 years of study in the specialty "Philology" in 2014 and 2015 were trained at the Russian Center of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Pechersk University. In 2017, teachers of the department, together with Hungarian colleagues, conducted research within the framework of the project, gave lectures to teachers of Hungarian gymnasiums.

Within the framework of the agreement on scientific cooperation between the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the L.N. Gumilev ENU and the Department of the Russian Language of the Moscow City Pedagogical University, joint research is conducted, students participate in scientific conferences of both departments.

An agreement on cooperation in the field of science, education and culture has been signed with Tolstoy Tula State Pedagogical University. The initiator of the agreement was Prof. E.A. Zhuravleva. Russians Russian Literature Department has been a co-organizer of the International Student Conference "Russian Language in the XXI Century: Studies of the Young" held at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics since 2014. In 2018, the dialectological practice of ENU students took place on the basis of Tula University.

Within the framework of the agreement on scientific cooperation, the Faculty of Philology of Surgut State Pedagogical University successfully co-organizes traditional international conferences of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the L.N. Gumilev ENU: Russian Russian Language and Literature Teaching scientific and practical conference, student conference "Russian Language in the 21st Century: Studies of the young", international student competitions and Olympiads.

With the Technical University of Dresden (Germany), one of the largest technical universities in Germany, which is among the TOP 200 best universities in the world according to QS, occupying the 195th position, the department won the competition of the international mobility program "Erasmus+". Under this program, undergraduates study for a semester in Dresden, exchange lecturers, and conduct joint research projects. The head of the Institute of Slavic Studies at the University of Dresden, Prof. Kousset is a foreign consultant to doctoral students of the department, on the basis of the Institute of Slavic Studies, doctoral students undergo scientific internships.

Undergraduates undergo internships at the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University within the framework of the concluded cooperation agreement. Also, since 2015, the University of Kazan has been a co-organizer of the International Student Scientific Conference "Russian in the XXI century: research of the young" held annually by the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. Leading scientists of the department together with colleagues from Kazan write scientific articles published in indexed journals WoS and Scopus.

Within the framework of the cooperation agreement with the Ural State Mining University, various types of joint activities are carried out: undergraduates are being trained at the Department of Foreign Languages and Business Communication, this department is co-organizing the conference "Text in the Russian Language and Literature teaching system", research and articles are being developed in collaboration with scientists from two universities.
