
Training and employment
The level of employment of graduates today is one of the indicators of the effectiveness of the department and the university. Issues of social protection and employment of young specialists, improving the mechanism for their adaptation to the labor market, promoting their employment, further development and professional growth are of priority importance in terms of implementing the main directions of the State Youth Policy Strategy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Career and Business Partnership Department of L.N. Gumilyov ENU annually monitors the employment of university graduates. Monitoring data allows us to conclude that graduates are in demand in the labor market, their professional training generally meets the requirements of employers.
Outreach meetings are being held, organized by the Career and Business Partnership Department, to develop a state grant for employment at the Faculty of Philology, in which those responsible for employment, 4th-year students, 2nd-year master's students and 3rd-year doctoral students take part. During the meetings, the main issues regarding employment after graduation, as well as the responsibility of graduates and employers are covered.
Department of Foreign Philology ENU named after. L.N. Gumilyov within the framework of the schedule of meetings with employers of final year students under the guidance of senior teachers Zhamanaeva G.N. and Zhabigenova G.S. Meetings, webinars, seminars, and round tables are held with invitations from representatives of various organizations. Graduates get the opportunity to get acquainted with employer vacancies and decide on a place of work in the future. Consequently, these events help for the further employment of graduates. The department has positive reviews of graduates of the department's specialties.
During the academic year, the person responsible for employment at the Department of Foreign Philology constantly works with undergraduate graduates of the specialties “Foreign Philology”, “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” and graduates of the master’s and doctoral programs of the specialties “Foreign Philology” and “Training of Foreign Language Teachers”.
The main places of employment for graduates: language and educational training centers, schools, ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov, NJSC "KazATU named after. S.Seifullina", Eurasian Humanitarian Institute, colleges, limited liability partnership, individual entrepreneur.
Thus, the majority of graduates of the Department of Foreign Philology are employed and provide supporting documents. The demand for graduates of the specialty “Foreign Philology” is wide. Graduates can perform the following types of activities: educational (pedagogical), organizational and managerial, scientific research and realize their professional qualities in schools, training centers, translation agencies, publishing houses, advertising agencies.
As a result of the work done to employ graduates of the Department of Foreign Philology, the following results: 2021 -90%, 2022 - 85%; 2023 -72%, 2024 -80%.

Currently, further work is underway with graduates to promote employment. Thus, graduates of the department of specialties D059 “Foreign Philology”, D019 “Training of Foreign Language Teachers” Bulegenova I.B. and Kabenova D.M. employed at the Department of Foreign Philology, graduate of specialty D019 “Training of Foreign Language Teachers” Kiyakbay N.B. –Director of School-Gymnasium No.44 in Astana.
