Achievements
Teaching staff of Foreign Languages Department of Philological Faculty is regularly awarded high awards, diplomas and medals for outstanding contributions to science, education, and the development of language culture. The teachers actively participate in competitions, research projects, and international conferences, winning prizes and constantly confirming their high professional level.
As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2020-2021, the teaching staff of the Department of Foreign Languages received a number of awards. Candidate of pedagogical sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Nurdybayeva Aigul Kalievna, candidate of pedagogical sciences, ass. professor Mukhtarkhanova Ainagul Madievna and candidate of pedagogical sciences, ass. professor Ustelimova Natalia Anatolievna, Senior teacher Zhussupova Gaukhar Musaevna, candidate of pedagogical sciences, ass. professor Tussupova Gulden Kabdrashevna, Senior teacher Nurbekova Gulizat Zhaksylykovna, Senior teacher Burkitbayeva Altynay Gazizovna were awarded by the medal "Еуразия университетіне 25 жыл" for her contribution to the formation and development of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
In 2021 under the guidance of senior teacher Niyazbekova Akmaral Artykbayevna and a team of students of a non-linguistic specialty received 3rd place in the nomination "For a creative approach to developing a business concept for a restaurant" in the second international Olympiad "Economics through the prism of the English language".
Also, senior teacher Duishonalieva Burul Toktoshevna was awarded a diploma on behalf of the rector E.B. Sydykov as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Senior teachers Zhandildinova A.M., Kozhakhmetova S.N., Zhanayeva Zh.A., Mussabayeva G.M., Tussupbekova N.S. received letters of thanks from Vice-Rector E.A. Ongarbaev for outstanding contribution to the organization of the Gumilyov International Online Olympiad for non-linguistic specialties, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of L.N. Gumilyov.
In 2022 Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Acting Associate Professor Mukhtarkhanova A.M. participated in the competition for awards in the field of science, state scientific scholarships and received an award named after Ch. Valikhanov for the best scientific research in the field of humanities.
By the concept of lifelong learning (lifelong education), the State Program for the Development of Education and Science (2020-2025) of the Republic of Kazakhstan it is planned to develop a mechanism to create "Silver Universities". L.N. Gumilyov ENU implements the social project "Silver University" within the framework of the Concept of Lifelong Learning. To preserve the social and labor activity of older people, their cognitive abilities, psychological and physical health, and most importantly, in our opinion, the formation of a positive vision of the active aging model in society is to provide learning opportunities through educational technologies. At the Silver University, the course was conducted by teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages: Associate Professor Balkhimbekova Perizat Zhanatovna, candidate of philological sciences Ospanova F.A., PhD Baltynova A.Sh. and senior lecturers Vatutina Zh. P., Tussupbekova N. S., Mussabekova Z. S., Burkitbayeva A. G., Zagorulya O.L., Mussabayeva G.M.
Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Acting Associate Professor of Foreign languages department sof the Faculty of Philology Kassymbekova Nurilya Sabetkanovna was awarded a diploma on behalf of Minister S. Nurbek for her contribution to the development of the education system and in the field of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Ass. Professor Sagimbayeva Jannat Yelemesovna was awarded "Lev Gumilyov medal" for merits in the field of science and education.
Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, PhD Balkhimbekova Perizat Zhanatovna was awarded a distinction for merit in the field of science and education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; a diploma for participation in the republican competition "Zhana Kazakhstan: bilim take salasynyn uzdigi", held in order to widely promote the Message of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan "Zhana Kazakhstan: zhanaru men zhangyru zholy" among teachers of educational organizations.
The National Center for Advanced Studies "Orleu" awarded the senior teacher of the department Nurdybayeva Aigul Kalievna with a letter of thanks for participating as an expert in the annual Republican competition called "Panorama of Pedagogical Ideas".
In 2023 Senior teachers of the department Nurbekova Gulizat Zhaksylykovna, Kasymbekova Nurilya Sabetkanovna and Mussabaeva Gulnaz Manarovna were awarded a letter of gratitude from the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Senior teacher Suleimenova Zhazira Azamatovna was awarded a letter of gratitude on behalf of the chairman of the board - rector E.B. Sydykov for her contribution to strengthening mutual cooperation, organizing professional practice and employment of future personnel of L.N. Gumilyov ENU.
In 2024 Tussupbekova Madina Zhanbyrbaevna was awarded a letter of gratitude for giving a lecture at advanced training courses in the field of higher and secondary vocational education "Winter Teacher School - 2024" on the topic: "The efficiency of using improvisation techniques in teaching English on the basis of foreign literature".
Senior teacher Suleimenova Zhazira Azamatovna took 1st place at the III pedagogical competition for young teachers of the Faculty of Philology, also senior teacher Tussupbekova Nurlygul Saduakasovna and teacher Mussabaeva Gulnaz Manarovna took 2nd place.
Associate Professor Sagymbaeva Zhannat Elemesovna awarded with the title of "Honorary Head of the Department" by Rector of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Sydykov Erlan Battashevich.
As part of the professional development course “Artificial Intelligence in Science and Education” first-year students, supervised by senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages, PhD Sadykova Aigul Kudaibergenovna, and senior lecturer Kuzar Zhanna Nurlanovna, won 1st and 2nd prizes in “Digital ENU” contest.
In 2025, the textbook “Kazakhstan Regions in Focus” by Tazhitova Gulzhakhan Zarubayevna took 2nd place out of 75 textbooks in the nomination “Social Sciences” at the II National Publication Competition “Global Scicall: New Knowledge Fund”.
Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Ustelimova Natalya Anatolyevna was awarded a well-deserved award - a medal for 25 years of impeccable work at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
In 2026 at the International Conference “Leadership in Higher Education and the Role of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Context of Digital Globalization,” organized by the Kazakhstan Women Scientists Society, the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the A. Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Balkhimbekova Perizat Zhanatovna delivered a presentation on “Teaching Foreign Languages at University in the Era of Digitalization.” and was awarded by Letter of Gratitude.
A regular meeting was held with the participation of representatives of “AMANAT” party. The event was attended by Gulmira Aktaylakova, Executive Secretary of the Almaty District Branch in Astana, and Abdigani Bazylkhanuly, Head of the Department of Political Work of the Astana City Branch. Following the meeting, the department staff were awarded a Letter of Appreciation from “AMANAT” party, and the faculty members received party badges.
A celebratory event dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Silver University was held within the framework of the 30th anniversary of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The Department of Foreign Languages was awarded a Letter of Appreciation for the successful organization and delivery of the course “Linguistic Course for Travel and Excursions.”
At the International Online Olympiad in Foreign Languages held at the Faculty of International Relations and dedicated to the 30th anniversary of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, a first-year student Amir Turarov (Nuclear Physics) under the supervision of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Aubakirova Aiman Kairlovna and first-year student Inkar Temirgali (Group KTA-13, Kazakh Language and Literature) under the supervision of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Tussupova Gulden Kabdrashevna won 3rd place in the German language competition. A first-year student Akylzhan Zhaksybek (Automation and Control) under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Akmaral Artykbayevna Niyazbekova won 3rd place in the English language competition.
Under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Niyazbekova Akmaral Artykbaevna, students Adikhan R., Azatbek D., Yerbolov N., Zhaksybek A., and Nauan Zh. became winners of the IV All-Russian Video Project Competition in Foreign Languages “My University” in the nomination “Best Script.”
The organizers and participants of the winter school “Innovations in Language Education,” held from January 5 to 16, 2026, were awarded letters of appreciation and certificates.
